Some of you may wonder why it takes so long to share my sessions with you. What on earth takes so long, right?
First, there's that TEASER image after a shoot. Why is that not instant, right? There's a very real explanation for this. After a shoot, provided I'm not tied up with other business tasks, I like to upload my images (and back them up) off my memory card and onto a hard drive. Computers like to take their time with this…. and my files are HUGE! I mean, we're not talking phone sized pics here… we are talking images that have the potential to be blow up to MASSIVE print sizes (billboard size if need be). So, this takes a while. Often, I'm sitting there watching in anticipation as images start to appear in my catalogue. I LOVE this part!!! Then, of course, I like to give my client a heads up that their image is about to go online. If they're not available I often wait until I know they are in a position to be able to see their image FIRST. It's just something I like to do …. so that my clients (that's you) can get a real rush from seeing their image as it hits the internet.
Then, there are usually a few more teasers as I sort through the collection, culling duplicates and choosing those magical images for processing.
Finally, it takes around three weeks to get these images ready for viewing by my clients. No, it doesn't take three weeks to process them from start to finish. That would be crazy! It does, however take loads of time and love to produce each image and, of course, there is more to running my business than simply taking and processing images. I won't bore you with those details but they take around 70% of my work time. Yep! 30% creativity time v 70% business tasks. Eek! I do LOVE it though!!!
Once my client has seen their images, and are happy for me to do so, I LOVE to share them with you via the BLOG and SOCIAL sites.
So, for those of you who have been hanging to see more images from CHARLIE's One Year Portraits, here are some more previews for you. I had so much fun with this little guy and his big sister. I've had the honour of photographing them since Hannah was a baby and we always have SUCH A LOVELY TIME. Their Mama is AMAZING and is certainly raising two lovely little human beings. Check them out as they play in the studio for me!
