Back in 2014 I wrote this BLOG article (on our old BLOG site). With so many of my clients heading back to having their images printed as art pieces (as they are designed for) I thought it a good time to re-share this really informative article, written when I first realised how important LARGE heirloom prints were something my clients needed.
Have you ever really stopped and considered just 'how' your photographic art is going to look on your walls at home?
Lately, I have been doing a lot of thinking about this subject. Sure, I produce beautiful, timeless images for you. But have I really been giving you what you want? This question has given me many restless nights, as I lay considering what it is that you, my valued clientele are truly seeking. After some very careful listening, and simply asking you, I have come up with a solution I am happy with. Change! Oh no! That dreaded word that we all run from! I know, we as humans do not like CHANGE…. but we do like to be valued, which is exactly what I am doing. I value you and the investment you place in my work!!!
Those of you who have been with me from my very humble beginnings know that I have been offering the same products to my clients now for the last 6 years. If it's not broke don't fix it… right? Oh, but I was wrong! There is another way. A better way! One which will make my you truly happy for the long term.
Traditionally, for one price you received the same thing every time: 13 lovely gift sized prints and digitals on disc. I honestly thought that this was the bees knees… wrong! I mean, really? Do you really want these tiny prints? I listened to requests for bigger and then took a step back to look around my own home. I am truly blessed with an amazing range of high-quality products and what is in my home? Bucket loads of large (I mean large) prints and gorgeous flip-through albums that tell my families' story. Oh dear! Seems that I missed the boat there. Here I am adorning my own home with absolutely breath-taking photographic art… and giving you these little tiny prints that, at that size, really only look good in a photo album or on Grandma's photo shelf. For this I am truly apologetic. They do not do your artful images the justice they deserve.
So, in walks Mr Change! We don't always like him but he often brings great things. Look at the evolution of our society. Without change we would still be stuck in the dark and not so free to pursue our lives the way we can today. I, for one, am very grateful for him!
What does this mean for my you? A new, revised, completely personalised experience with me. Gone are the old packages with the same, boring, small products. I am very happy to announce that, from now on, you will be treated with even more love and respect than before. You will now enjoy a photographic experience that is truly catered around your needs.
During a pre consultation (over the phone, in person, via email or on Skype) you will be asked what it is that you are looking for. Do you see wall art in your home as a goal? Or would you like a lovely album to pass down to your child? How do you want to see your art displayed? Then, once we have settled this question, we will plan outfits and sets together, pinning to Pinterest (if you are as hooked as I am to Pinning). Then you will have your lovely, stylised, session where we will bring all of those plans and dreams to an artful resolution. Finally, for the climax, you will be treated to an in-studio viewing appointment where you will be able to see your images, touch and feel products, and make those final choices about how your art would look best displayed. Exciting stuff, right?
So, for those of us who do not like change, I apologise that things will never be quite the same again…. but in the best way possible! Welcome out of my own little Dark Age and into this beautiful, evolved service where the world is your oyster and you have that magical word: choice!
I have listened and Mr Change is here!
Welcome to a better way!!!
